Despite all attempts to scare off everyone who expressed interest, two brave runners completed a test run of the Mason-Dixon Shortest Day 50K++.
Ryan Vandenberg now has the fastest time with an 8 hour and 35 minute passage through this very difficult stretch of trail.
Gary Lukacs hustled in on the final section and made it to the finish line exactly at the 4:45 pm sunset time.
