The 2019 Trail Dawgs’ Tri-State Triple Crown was held on September 8, 2019 at White Clay Creek State Park's Carpenter Recreation Area. What a great day, with three races in three states, from White Clay Creek State Park (DE) to White Clay Creek Preserve (PA) to Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area (MD) and back. Runners could run one race, two races, or run all three and compete for the Triple Crown.
This 2019 edition was held as a fat-ass club fun run and picnic -- for this year, it was unofficial and just for fun (i.e., no registration fees and runners have to be self-supported). We had a great turnout, 49 runners in total, ages 8 to 74. Many of the runners ran more than one distance, and 5 runners completed the Triple Crown running all 3 distances. The weather was near-perfect, maybe a tad warm.
The results are tabulated below. A quick summary of who crossed the finish line first. In the 5K, Timmie Claessens was the male winner, and Rachel Slusher and Lindley Campbell the female winners. In the 10K, Rob Bartholomew was the male winner, and Jaime Tomlinson the female winner. In the 30K, David Long was the male winner and Nicole Halaszynski the female winner. And for the Triple Crown, Jake Landon was the winner. Congratulations to all the runners!
