The Race: PHUNT 50K is run in the standard FatAss format -- no fee, no frills, just 50K of fresh air and plenty of single track trail at beautiful Fair Hill State Natural Area in northeastern Maryland, just a few miles from the Delaware and Pennsylvania state lines.
The Canned Food Drive: We will continue the non-perishable food collection for local shelters and food banks this year. Please plan to bring an item or two for those who need help.
Course Pre-Runs: Yes, you can take the opportunity to get lost in Fair Hill before race day! Sunday, December 9, at 0800, South Appleton Lot, 15.5 mile loop tour, probably unmarked, stay together or follow map.
Race Amenities: The race is free but you expect amenities? Well, you are in luck -- we'll have just enough to keep you from keeling over from dehydration or starvation. Runners will be have access to fluids and snackies every 5 or 6 miles -- to help in this, we would appreciate it if each runner could bring one drink (preferred) or a snack item to contribute to the aid station tables. Best of all, Brother Phil left us his barley lentil soup recipe for he left us for Florida, so you can probably expect some hot soup at the finish-line tent.
Parking: Parking space will be very tight for the numbers signed up. Please, please car pool as much as possible to help!
